You are walking with the water and you see the full length of the narrows, then. They dropped us off at a ranch and you basically follow the river till you get to the mouth of the narrows. If you can plan out far enough and the timing is right, you can charter a van to drop you off at a ranch that has the Virgin River and camp at one of the few (maybe 9?) campsites in the narrows. I don't know a lot about Bryce Canyon but I recently did the Fairyland loop in the snow and loved it. Great views along the way and you go through the 1.1 mile long Mount Carmel tunnel. The drive to the top and back down is worth it. Zion Narrows - starts at the river walk trail then after a mile you hike against the river. You can do this hike 2 ways from weeping rock which hikes from the ground up (huge elevation climb, plan 3.5-6 hours) or from the top driving through Ponderosa Ranch. The hardest part on your legs is Walters Wiggles Not sure if you're an avid hiker or afraid of heights, but that's a memorable experience for any first timer.
